Italian entrepreneur and partner in Mayfair private members club Maddox, Livio Bisterzo, is to open his first restaurant on the site of the former Black Lion and French Horn on 5 Pollen Street in March.

The intimate 60 cover restaurant, named Pollen St, has already been dubbed one of London’s five new hot restaurants by the Evening Standard and looks set to attract a mixture of well known Londoners combined with the international A-list.

The owners are looking to create an understated yet sophisticated Mayfair eatery with a Northern Italian menu, offering light and healthy dishes as well as classic risottos, veal Milanese and pastas.

Jonathan Moradoff of Davis Coffer Lyons who acted for the landlord in the letting of the site, said: “Leisure space in Mayfair is extremely hard to come by and we had many operators showing interest in this site. Livio is a well-known and influential figure on the London night life circuit and I’m confident he will transform what used to be a classic pub tucked away in a little pocket behind Hanover Square into a sophisticated and classy dining destination.”
